Airport taxi & Careem

Taxis wait outside arrivals at negotiated fares, so agree the price firmly before you set off. Careem and Uber both operate at MED, but prices surge at prayer times and in peak season, and the pickup point can be a short walk from the terminal. Both are fine for a light-luggage solo traveller on a normal day; for a family with cases or a late arrival, a pre-booked car is easier and more predictable. The ihram point people get wrong

If Madinah is your first stop, you do not enter ihram at the airport — you arrive as a normal traveller and visit the Prophet's ﷺ Mosque first. The miqat for those later heading to Makkah is Dhul-Ḥulayfah (Abyār ʿAlī), on the road out of Madinah — not at MED. Enter ihram there when you depart for Makkah, whether by private car (which can stop at the miqat) or before boarding the Haramain train. Getting this right saves confusion on arrival and means you don't rush into ihram before you need to.
