For most nationalities the Saudi tourist eVisa now covers Umrah outside the Hajj season, so no dedicated Umrah visa is required. It depends far more on your hotel than on anything else. The visa, flights and ground transport are broadly fixed costs; a room 300 metres from the Haram can cost several times one a twenty-minute walk away, and that single choice usually decides the trip's budget. Our Umrah cost breakdown sets out realistic 2026 figures line by line, with budget, mid-range and comfort tiers.

For most nationalities you no longer need a dedicated Umrah visa. The Saudi tourist eVisa is valid for Umrah outside the Hajj season, and it is a one-year, multiple-entry visa. Which route applies depends on your passport, so check the guide for your country before you book flights.

Five days is workable, seven is comfortable, and ten to fourteen lets you add Madinah without rushing either city. The rites themselves take a few hours. What takes the time is prayers at the Haram, the Rawdah appointment in Madinah, and the travel between the two cities.

About 60 to 90 minutes by road, and every package can include a private car with meet-and-greet at arrivals. A private car from Jeddah (JED) to Makkah is SAR 260 to SAR 530 depending on vehicle size, fixed before you travel and covering the whole car rather than each seat. The alternative is the Haramain train, which is quicker but leaves you to arrange both ends yourself.
